Happy Mother’s Day

Saturday, May 9th, 2009       Written by: theAssistant      { Life }

Greg Fine’s second song, “How Does It Feel?”, was recorded in our studio after his Modern Lifestyle Family Portrait session in the Lower East Side. “How Does It Feel?” was inspired by the reconnection with his foster mother. His foster mother, Pat, gave Greg unconditional love and affection when he needed most.

For most of us, our greatest connection is with our mothers, because they gave us life and sometimes inspiration!

We love you mom!

Lower East Side Family Portraits {A Fine Day 1}

Monday, April 27th, 2009       Written by: theAssistant      { Carriage }

Greg Fine, the winner to our photo story contest stopped by our studio last week with his family to claim his prize. Willi met Greg and Lauren five years ago when he was entrusted to photograph their wedding. It must be a pleasure for Willi, theStoryteller to see his brides and grooms’ story continue; and once again entrust him to document their next chapter.

Knowing that Greg is an artist and musician, Willi asked Greg to bring his guitar with him. Greg treated Willi to a live performance. His voice is a pleasure to listen to; it is both soulful and angelic.

“Always Time” is on Greg’s new and soon to be released CD.

To learn more about Greg and his music visit him on myspace and CD Baby

The audio slideshow will play when it has finished loading. It may take a minute or two.

The photo session is shot entirely in the Lower East Side. It has it’s share of historical buildings, it’s own park, bridges and yet somehow retain the raw urban characteristics of decades past. As you can see, it is a hip place to shoot in.

The Knot Best of Weddings 2008/2009 Pick

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009       Written by: theAssistant      { Life }

We were pleasantly surprised when we opened our mail box today.

“We are proud to announce that Willi Wong Photography has been rated by local brides and voted The Knot Best of Weddings 2008/2009 Pick. Please pick up a copy of The Knot Best of Weddings 2009 magazine and check out our listing.”

The best gift and accolade any photographer can have is the show of appreciation from his brides and grooms. To be voted by the brides as one of the best wedding photographers on The Knot Best of Weddings Magazine is like being on The New York Times best sellers list.

We cherish this more than any titles and honors from other institutions or critics because it’s from the people we serve. Thank you to all of the brides out there who bestow this sweet affirmation on us. We’re thrilled and inspired by your recognition to continue to create, improve, and give you the best services. Thank you all, we love you!

The Heldrich Wedding {Amanda & Jordan}

Saturday, March 28th, 2009       Written by: theAssistant      { Marriage, Wedding Stories }

After the recording of Elena & Chris’s Wedding Story, I wanted to make sure I was present for the next one. Willi forgot to press the record button. He may know all the buttons on his cameras, but with everything else it may be a different story.

We’ve recently updated our website to include the Story of Amanda & Jordan. We named Amanda & Jordan’s Story, “Since Date One”. There’s a very special reason to why we chose the title. I don’t want to ruin their story by introducing it any further. You will not be disappointed, because their story is like a Russian matryoshka/Babushka doll; a story within a story.

Once again we want to thank Amanda & Jordan for coming into our studio to share their story with us even though 6 months have passed since their wedding. Thank you for your time and effort and we really enjoyed talking to you, Jordan while waiting for Amanda.

Glen Island Harbor Club Wedding {Elena & Chris}

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009       Written by: theStoryteller, a Modern Lifestyle Photographer      { Marriage, Wedding Stories }

Many of us go through life making mistakes without a second chance to make it right. Chris and Elena first dated for 3½ years and took a 2 year break before a meeting by chance brought them back together. They seized upon this once in a lifetime opportunity to treasure one another and fall in love all over again and in their own words, “It’s much better the second time around”.

It must be fate, but without the appreciation of what life offers us we can not profit from the opportunity. One can see that Chris and Elena genuinely appreciate this gift that brought them back together and they are profiting from this reunion and turning their life into one of love, caring and appreciation. I can truly sense these energies in the presence of Chris and Elena.

Check out my conversation with them at the end of their wedding images.

This is my first audio interview with a couple and I look forward to more exciting and insightful conversations with brides and grooms who have given me the opportunity to be their storyteller.
